"highmodulus" (highmodulus)

Please stop saying the concept version of a car is the actual car. IT IS A CONCEPT! If you are lucky some of the elements may survive the various US and Euro crash standard changes (se e.g. the WRX concept and the ACTUAL new WRX).
Most concept cars are fantasy versions, which don't have to live in a world with crash standard, be mass producable or not sell for $300k each. They bear as much relation to the real thing as the fast food shown on television does to the wax paper wrapped dispair that you get at the drive through.
The Detriot coverage seems to be rife with this mistake.

The best/biggest mistake seems to be the Atlas to F-150 translation.
I don't know about you crazy people, but a black new F-150 looks awfully close to the Atlas concept...
The red one we saw yesterday had the classically atrocious chromed grille and in my mind ugly red paint that rarely works on a truck.
But hey, opinions. Assholes. Insanity. Something along those lines.

Yeah, the whole OMGWTF THE F150 DOESN'T LOOK LIEK THE ATLAS thing going on there confuses the crap out of me. Other than a few detail elements the F-150 keeps pretty close to the Atlas concept to me. The grill is the same shape, lights are the same shape, DLO looks to be the same, sheetmetal looks pretty close. The side mirrors are different, it lost the funky roof and the grill detail is different. That's keeping pretty true to the concept in my book.
